hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was very good. Had a meal in the lounge in the evening and it was very tasty.
Think the area around the outside of the hotel could be tidied up a bit (between the hotel and the cinema) as this spoiled the look of the hotel which is in itself a lovely building

I really enjoyed the ease, friendliness and light-hearted efficiency of every member of the hotel's staff. I was made feel that nothing was a problem. Any request was accepted with open arms and without demur. Thank you all.
First and foremost, the hotel was hard to find - especially at night- time. And even when I arrived (guided in by phone) I saw nothing to convince me I was really in the right place until I saw a sign partly covered by a bush. The road outside is a busy road with a fair speed that makes it hard to slow down so you need really clear signage that sticks out (a bit like the Storm cinema next door). The other thing that frustrated me was the "subdued lighting" in the room. I found it almost impossible to read. There was no way to illuminate the room properly. Weak light emanated reluctantly from the ceiling and a few table-top lamps - perfect for a honeymoon or romantic setting. However I was there on my own and found it very hard to read comfortable anywhere other than the brighly illuminated toilet. It would be nice to give the visitor a bit more choice in the lighting arrangements.

The staff were very pleasent and very helpful. The hotel might not look upto much outside but we were pleasently surprised inside. Excellent value for money.

A Street number or Post code on the address for the sat nav would cut down the time wasted finding the hotel from 45 minutes to 5

It was very nice we clean and welcoming staff. They accomodated our late night check in.
We did think the breakfast would be served straight from the kitchen. It wasnt the best spread for breakfast we've had in hotels.

Great hotel... Staff are really really nice! Only complaint would be how cold the rooms where but in fairness we didnt ask for the heating to be turned on so it was our booboo!

Size of rooms - Chandeliers and their bronzes and some nice touches with old candlesticks etc.
When we arrived there were 4 people behind reception. One left as we arrived and the other 3 continued their conversation as if we were not there. The walls doors were grotty and needing cleaning/painting. Our biggest gripe of all was the COLD. The hotel was freezing. My sister and I had to get in to bed to chat in the evening, before dinner because it was so cold in the room. The restaurant was freezing when we went to dinner and we left the bar because I had a stiff neck from cold air blowing at me.
